World Class Synthetic Pitches
At Lilleshall you will also find 2 World Class Floodlit Synthetic Pitches, one for hockey and one for football, available to the local community, school/college and elite users.
The pitches have recently been completed and the hockey pitch is a 'Polygrass Europa' surface and is the only one of its kind outside of Asia, the same surface which was used at the Beijing Olympics.
The second pitch is a 'Tiger Turf' surface for football and hockey and again is of a 'World Class' standard.
A representative from England Hockey commented that the new Hockey Pitch was “A great facility and perfect for our junior international programmes. The pitch had been down less than a week and played well. Good ball roll and firm under foot from having a heavier carpet as opposed to a light nylon, good shock layer. Both pitches in that setting are ideal. Staff most helpful and always ensuring we had what was required, whether food, equipment or facilities, nothing was too much trouble. Prepared to slightly change timings for us on an earlier dinner, very willing to adapt to help. The food and choice was very good.”
