THE EUROPEAN INSTITUTE OF FITNESS ESTABLISHES A NATIONAL CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR PERSONAL TRAINING AT LILLESHALL

Lilleshall National Sports Centre were proud to welcome the European Institute of Fitness, for their first residential Personal Trainers qualification. The two week intensive course was the first of many to be held at the National Centre for Sporting Excellence, from 2011 Lilleshall will be the home of the EIF, who have more than 5 years of experience in delivering accredited courses in Spain.

Last year Lilleshall went through a range of centre refurbishments, one of them being the permanent Archery GB indoor and outdoor shooting range improvements and office space within Sutherland Hall. After all of the changes were made there was an area of the hall which was unused, it was decided that this area would be filled and used by a range of fitness equipment, kindly donated from Harpers Fitness, once this area was in place it did not take long to convince the EIF that Lilleshall would make the perfect base for all of their training needs.

This new partnership offers students from all around the country and overseas the opportunity to receive world class training at a world class venue. Enjoying the idyllic surrounds students were able to develop the skills to deliver outdoor PT, sports conditioning, weight management programs and much more without the hustle and bustle of their normal busy lives. The European Institute already boasts a full campus near Alicante in Spain and has trained more than 1000 trainers over the past 5 years. A full profile is available from their website www.eifitness.co.uk including details about their courses and accreditations.

Institute Director Darren Tebbenham commented “The residential nature of the experience and relaxing atmosphere on-site provides the very best way to help people excel. We are very excited about this venture as our nation suffers from chronic sedentary living to ensure future generations of personal trainers receive the very best start they can to a new and exciting career in fitness. With full time fast-track courses starting from January 2011 the rest of 2010 will see two further blended learning offerings combining live and interactive online study with this two-week intensive here at Lilleshall.“

Darren states: “Our courses provide a safe and non-intimidating environment for students to develop the skills and abilities to make a difference, undergoing training in motivation theory, communication and behaviour change as well as a the normal components of a personal fitness training course.“

"We are very pleased to be working with the amazing staff associated with this national sports centre from those who provide daily food and beverages with a smile, to the friendly and always helpful reception staff and of course accommodation and operational support from Alex Jackson and Steve Hutchinson. I would also like to thank Lee Moore, General Manager who has been absolutely pivotal in this new project and transition to the UK and this amazing venue to continue in the ethos of delivering world class training and education.”

Lee Moore Commented; “The new partnership that we have been able to set up with the EIF is very exciting indeed, with a business plan that could easily see the EIF become the Centre’s largest customer within the next 12 months. Sport England are also supporting this process and the EIF are planning to relocate their business operations from Spain to Lilleshall during December 2010”.
