RFUW First Visit to Lilleshall
The weekend of the 15th/16th November saw the first of the 2008/09 RFUW International Training camps at Lilleshall National Sports Centre. All three of the international squads – Elite 44, 7s and Under 20s – travelled to Lilleshall early Saturday morning to squeeze in not only training but medical screening, Nike fitting, annual headshots and numerous meetings and administration.

Every member of staff at Lilleshall really did pull out all of the stops to ensure that this high intensity elite level camp ran smoothly. From the bookings team who dealt with all of the many complex requirements, the grounds staff who developed a new rugby pitch, the operations team who provided a system of ice baths, and the accommodation and catering team who laid on a range of special dietary requirements and additional meal times.
RFUW Rachel Carter commented; “Thanks again, I know we are not an easy group to please but you certainly did. Please pass my thanks on to Jo on reception who was fantastic, Tim who I didn’t meet but seemed to sort out everything we needed, the groundsman and all the catering staff (and anyone else in the background!)”
Lee Moore, General Manager, commented;”“Securing the 2009 RFUW training camp programme was a major success for the site, which adds to an increasingly impressive list of new business the Centre is achieving.”
