Lilleshall National Sports Centre Gains Top Industry Award for Quality
Lilleshall National Sports Centre received an outstanding score of 88% following its last Quest Assessment in July this year, which places Lilleshall in a very exclusive club of only a few Centres in the UK to have gained the 'Excellent' status within the Quest Scheme. The centre is managed by leading leisure management company Leisure Connection on behalf of Sport England.
Quest is the leisure industry's benchmarking system for quality and is only awarded when centres demonstrate that they are offering a quality service, which defines standards and good practice throughout the industry.
Lilleshall prides itself on having a team who are committed to the delivery of a quality service to local residents, as well as elite sportsmen and women from all over the country. The centre is proud of its facilities which include; 2 gymnastics halls, 3 indoor sports halls, Olympic Weights Room, 1 Studio Hall, 9 football pitches, 1 Astroturf, 5 squash courts, 1 Bowling Green, Snooker Room, rehabilitation and sports science, accommodation for 185, extensive conference, banqueting and meeting facilities, Chapters Restaurant and over 100 acres of gardens.
Lilleshall was first accredited as 'highly commended' under the Quest Scheme in July 2002 and was the first dry-site Centre (and only one of two Centre's at the time) in the UK to achieve 'Excellent' status with a score of 85% in July 2006. This recent score of 88% maintains Lilleshall's status as one of the leading Centre's in the UK for sports and leisure provision.
Lee Moore, General Manager at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, said; "The Quest accreditation has been a fantastic result for us and shows what can be achieved through effective teamwork and commitment. We are delighted to have boosted our score again in the latest assessment, which demonstrates our drive for continuous improvement and highlights the quality of service which the Lilleshall team is delivering to the local and wider community."
Lilleshall enjoys a full calendar of elite and world class usage and events, in addition to its comprehensive programme of activities for local people. The Centre, which is managed by Leisure Connection Ltd on behalf of Sport England, is hoping to play an important role in the lead up to the 2008 and particularly the 2012 Olympics.
